Walk Together Saturday 8 August

Priest’s holidays  

Hopefully a number of you will be able to get a break over the next couple of weeks.

During the summer the office will generally remain open as usual, between 9.30am and 5.30pm, Monday to Friday. We will continue to have Open House on a Monday evening, but for the shorter time of 5.30pm-6.30pm.

Fr Mark has returned from Baltimore renewed and refreshed and Fr Francis will be away for August, leaving Fr Mark, Fr Jude and Deacons Jon and Klaus taking care of everyone. Happy holidays to you all!

History of St Mary’s Parish

St Barnabas Franciscan Pilgrimage – Saturday 12th September

Pope Leo has declared this year as a Jubilee year of St Francis, marking the 800th anniversary of the death of St Francis of Assisi. The Cluster Pastoral Council are planning, as part of the Jubilee Year, to hold our own Franciscan Pilgrimage around our parishes across Milton Keynes, starting at St Mary’s, Woburn Sands and completing the pilgrimage at St Bede’s, Newport Pagnell. On each of the stages there will be a stamp to collect designed by the young people of Christ the King parish. You will be able to do all or part of the pilgrimage, joining for whatever leg of the walk you feel able to do. We will be publishing the map with mileage by section, expected times to complete and all the other information in the coming weeks.
Last year over 120 people were involved in the event, so please come along and take part this year.

Diocesan Mass in Celebration of Marriage and Family Life:

All are welcome to the Diocesan Mass for Marriage and Families at Northampton Cathedral on 5 September at 12 noon. An opportunity to celebrate marriage and family and for married couples to renew their commitment to one another.

DISCERNMENT DAY FOR VOCATIONS TO THE PRIESTHOOD

Are you wondering whether God may be calling you to the priesthood? If you are seeking to deepen your relationship with Christ and explore God’s plan for your life, you are warmly invited to attend a Discernment Day for Vocations to the Priesthood.

Date: Saturday, 8th August
Time: 10.30 a.m.
Venue: St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, Langcliffe Drive, Milton Keynes

The day will include prayer, reflection, Mass, fellowship, and opportunities to speak with priests and others discerning God’s call. It is open to men aged 16 and above who are considering a vocation to the Catholic priesthood in the Diocese of Northampton.
